Tanner, an architect and district surveyor, and Lavinia Tanner, nee Botts (b.1849).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe 1901 census shows that she was an art student in that year and, as well as her parents, she lived with siblings Albert Stringer (b.1876), Melita (b.1877), Rudolph (b.1879) and Lois Jane Victoria (b.1888).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEthel illustrated The Mischievous Puppy by Leslie Martin in 1919. Her illustrations are very similar to that of Cecil Aldin, who went to art school in Kensington.
