{"title":"Lawson, John","description":"\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eJohn Lawson (1838-1908)\u003c\/strong\u003e was born on 10th June 1838 in Dunfermline, Scotland, to Robert Lawson, a weaver, and his wife Ann, nee Kirk. Lawson worked variously as a stained-glass designer, sculptor and artist, although he's perhaps best-known as a book illustrator.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHe married Irish-born Martha Caragher (1838\/9-1905) on 13th July 1858, just two months before the birth of their eldest daughter Lizzie.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Lawsons' children included \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/publicdomainimagelibrary.com\/collections\/mack-lawson-lizzie\" title=\"Lizzie Lawson\"\u003eLizzie\u003c\/a\u003e (b.1858, Dunfermline), Martha Louise (b.1860, Dunfermline), Edwin John (b.1862, Midlothian), Williamina Jane or Minnie, m. McLean (1867-1893) and Noel Paton (b.1869).  At some time between 1871 and 1881, the family moved down to London. Their address in 1891 was \u003cspan\u003eItalian Villa, 62, Hurlingham Road, Fulham, London.
